With the First Last Supper Ellen has been exploring the history of food from a historical perspective as well as the event of eating itself. Following the cultural background of this particular cuisine she has created it as a contemporary spectacle.
Drawing up the menu Ellen has chosen to work with ingredients found in historical references and interpreted them according to contemporary taste. With this — Ellen's first — Last Supper she focuses on the cultural diversity our table offers today and brings this together in contemporary interpretation of ethnic and cultural history.
The book shows the First Last Supper as Ellen has created it, presenting and documenting the menu as well as the meal as she has created it. In addition it features short texts by Tom Flemming. It brings together the tradition of the Last Supper and a contemporary sensation of taste. For an inaugural special edition it is printed on tissue paper reminiscent of that used in the bible.
